The stadium in Greater Manchester is one of the oldest continuously used football grounds in the world, with records back to 1879; thankfully the facilities have been updated since then. Of the 4,500 capacity at Hurst Cross, there are 250 seats in the Sid Sykes stand, and the rest of the stadium is fully terraced. Facilities include a refreshments kiosk, shop and toilet to the right of the Sid Sykes stand and a social club to the left. There are two uncovered terraces behind each goal known as the Lees Road End and the Rowley Street End, whilst the Popular Stand has covered terracing for 500 spectators. If games require fans to be segregated, travelling supporters are usually housed in the Lees Road End of the ground and should enter via this turnstile. Hurst Cross has plenty of character, with its old fashioned toilets and cosy social club, it is also in walking distance from Ashton-Under-Lyne rail station. Being just down the road from FC United, Ashton is worth a trip. Ground review by FC United fan - Richard Jones.
