Board Profile – Gemma Avery

Current board term July 2023 – AGM 2023

Gemma Avery was appointed to the FC United board in July 2023 to fill one of the two vacancies which had arisen at that time, Bhavna Mistry was appointed at the same time to fill the other vacancy.

Gemma is a specialist in communications and marketing and therefore became the lead on communications and marketing. Gemma is a strategic marketing professional who is currently the Marketing and Communications Manager for Active Lancashire and is responsible for developing the organisation’s marketing strategy and communications activity. In addition, Gemma also works with The Fan Experience Company to support clubs to improve their overall match day experience for fans and families. Gemma has previously worked in football-based marketing roles at the Manchester Football Association, Arsenal FC and Burnley FC.
