FC United’s Development Fund (DF) is a vital part of the fundraising package that will enable us to realise our dream of playing in our own ground. In total, since its inception, we have raised £500k through the Development Fund – a fantastic achievement that is a testament to the passion and dedication of FC United supporters everywhere.

For the Moston community stadium project, we have raised £210k to date and need to raise a total of around £375k. Reaching this amount will help us pay for the build as well as the fit-out of the stadium and facilities. You will see a new totaliser on the left of the page that reflects our new target.

The Development Fund is run on an entirely voluntary basis, so when you see people selling tickets for a DF event, shaking collection buckets under your nose or asking for sponsorship, remember that these people are fellow supporters like you who want the club to achieve its dream of playing in a place FC United fans can truly call home.

There are a number of ways that you can contribute to the Development Fund so please help where you can:

On Friday 14 September 2012, FC United will host a Gala Dinner to raise funds to help build our new ground. This glittering event will take place at an iconic venue in central Manchester and will provide an opportunity to enjoy an evening of fine food, drink and entertainment. For companies and organisations, it is the perfect occasion to take your team out for a night of glamour, whilst helping FC United to raise money so we can build our community stadium in Moston. We will have a variety of exciting Auction and raffle prizes which will most definitely catch your eye and guest speakers from the worlds of TV, sport and entertainment. Full details and ticket prices will be announced very soon, so get the date – Friday 14 September 2012 – in your diary today! Early booking will be advised as tickets are sure to sell out quickly.

Pitch In! or set up/increase your standing order

There are many ways you can contribute to the development fund, and here are two examples:

1) Pitch In! Buy a square on our virtual pitch, and you could win £1000 and/or other prizes.

2) Set up, or increase, your standing order.

We expect announcements on next season’s holiday draw and the gala dinner very soon.

PFTG & DF Barrels vs Northwich Vics 21/04/12

On Saturday vs Northwich Victoria the PFTG ticket sales were a fantastic £1205. The winning ticket was No 863 which was claimed. The winner got £200 and the DF made £1005, giving a tremendous running total for the reason of £12,212.

The DF barrel collection at the Northwich game was also exceptional, with a grand total of £664, which included £42 from the AGM and £250 of coins nicely bagged up from our match day secretary. Thanks everyone for all the support throughout the season. It’ll all go towards our new ground!

PFTG & DF Barrels vs Burscough 18/4/12

In the midweek home game vs Burscough on Wednesday 18th. The total ticket sales were £560, raising £360 for the DF. The lucky winner with ticket No 752 claimed their prize and promptly donated£100 of it back to the DF. Thanks Pat and family for your generosity. The running total for the season is is an amazing £11,162. Thanks

Meanwhile the DF Barrels raised a very healthy £384 including money raised from Euros exchanged, honey and preserves sold by Irwell Valley branch and books sold for Make A Difference week. Thanks for the support throughout the season to get us closer to that shiny new ground.

DF Buckets on tour – Ashton and Matlock

While the goals may not have been rattling in for FC recently, the DF buckets on tour have carried on rattling! At Ashton United £42 was collected in the famous DF bucket and after the Matlock Town game a further £75 was raised. Thanks for all your support & thanks Dave for shaking that bucket!

PFTG Buxton 7/4/2012 – First Armchair Army Win

Ticket No 210 won – The winner of this draw is a member of the unofficial forum Armchair Army. A number of the Armchair Army (who listen to the matches from afar over the FCUM Radio) purchased PFTG tickets in advance for each home game, contributing over £300 to the DF and for the first time one of the Armchair Army is a winner.

Total income from tickets sold: £930
DF gets £730, and the winner receives £200. Well done all!

Make A Difference Week – It’s Time For Our New Ground – 7th-14th April 2012

What can you do to help raise funds for the Development Fund (DF)?

If we could all give an hour or two of our time to do something however small to raise some funds for the DF think how we could really Make A Difference Week to plans for our new ground in Moston. Some examples of things you could try:

Doing gardening, cleaning, painting jobs for friends and neighbours
Making cakes and selling them in work
Washing neighbours’ cars
If you have a trade do a one-off job in your own time
Arrange a coffee morning
Do a local sponsored event
Sell something you don’t need on e-bay

So get your thinking caps on and see what you can do. It might give you a chance to raise some money from people who are not FC fans and also give a chance to talk to new people about FC and why we are trying to raise the funds. Any money you can raise please send in to the FC Offices or drop off at the Membership stall on Saturday 21st April vs Northwich, with a note saying how you much you raised and what you did. DF Barrels & PFTG vs Mickleover – 31/3/12

Against Mickleover Sports on 31/3/12 for PFTG we sold a total £665 the winning ticket being No 86 which was CLAIMED. The lady who won the £200 then kindly donated £100 straight back to the DF to kick start the DF Barrels for the day. The running Total for the season now stands at a fantastic £10,072.

A well respected board member (is there any other kind?) rocked up with three large bags of copper which amounted to just over £65. We had an anonymous donation of £200 and with the loose change we collected a massive £485. And also the buckateers also collected £15 outside the Whitby ground last wednesday. Thanks everyone.

PFTG & DF Barrels – vs Worksop 24/03/12

The Pound For The Ground winning ticket vs Worksop Town on 24/3/2012 was ticket No 391 which won £200 and the prize was claimed. The total sold on the day was and impressive £1045 so we raised £845 for the DF.

That brings the running total for the season to an impressive £9627. Thanks for your continued support.

For the DF Barrels there was £501 in small change, along with what can only be described as a an abundance of foreign coins and notes. These are still being sorted but there is at least 40 euros, 15 US dollars, 50 swiss francs and many more smaller quantities: all will be exchanged as soon as possible for english coin of the realm. Finally the best news.. there was a cheque for £1000 from Marks mum (carol) in an envelope which just said “for the DF”, for which we can only say thank you kindly. Making the final total a remarkable £1501! Thank you everyone.
