We're delighted to welcome back Margy, his coaches Darren Lyons and Dave Brown, and 20 or so players who carved their places in FC United folklore by rising from the North West Counties to the National League North, and achieving a second round replay in the FA Cup along the way. Kitmen Mike Norton and George Hayden will also return.
The players confirmed so far are:
* Unfortunately Tom Greaves, Dean Stott, Greg Daniels and Liam Brownhill have had to withdraw for reasons beyond their control
The Legends will take on the current first team, and a certain Neil Reynolds is making a strong claim for a place in the starting line up for the current first team!
It will be a fantastic occasion for FC United fans whether you're new to FC or whether you were there in the hazy early years. The players will be staying after the game for a few drinks and maybe even a sing-song, so if you used to enjoy a drink after the game in the Swan and Cemetery near Gigg Lane, you can dust-down all your old favourite tunes, and join in as we celebrate our red shirted heroes across our entire history.
What better way to celebrate the start of the new season with Margy, his coaches and players who took us from where we started to where we are now, giving us so many great memories along the way, and our exciting first team who will be pushing for promotion this season after two years of frustration?
Admission will be by ticket only and prices are as follows:
Adults £9
Concessions £5
Under-18s £2
Under-5s are free with a paying adult.
