Friendlies Confirmed So Far

Jimmy Davis Memorial Cup - 14 July 2007

FC United of Manchester are pleased to announce the first friendly of the season.

FC United will play away at Studley FC (Nr Redditch, Worcestershire) on Saturday 14th July 2007 in a match organised through The Jimmy Davis Memorial Fund.

The Jimmy Davis Memorial Fund has been set up by Jimmy’s family and Jimmy’s best friend Tim Wilkes, to raise funds in order to help young, up and coming footballers. The main aim of the fund is to support youth football.

Jimmy Davis, a very talented young footballer from Redditch, died in August 2003 at the age of twenty-one. Jimmy signed for Manchester United at the age of 14 and made his debut away at Arsenal in the League Cup on Bonfire Night in 2001. He also represented his country from the age of 15 to under 20’s level. While at Manchester United Jimmy was sent out on loan to Swindon Town and Watford and all these clubs very kindly support the fund.

Each year the Memorial Fund holds a football match for Jimmy’s Memorial Cup, the proceeds of which will go to the charity. FC United are honoured to have been approached by Jimmy’s family to take part in this years Memorial Cup.

Kidderminster Harriers - 21st July 2007

FC United of Manchester are pleased to announce a friendly with Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday 21st July 2007.

Kidderminster Harriers finished 10th in the Nationwide Conference and was finalists in this years FA Trophy.

Karl said of the friendly ’it will be a really good test for the players of FC United and will be a good chance for me and Phil to catch up with Neil Howarth who is an old friend’

Blackpool Mechanics Friendly - 22nd July 2007

FC United are pleased to announce a pre season friendly with Blackpool Mechanics on Sunday 22nd July, kick off 3pm.

The friendly is in conjunction with Northern Care, who has a close relationship with FC United.

The game will be played at Blackpool Mechanics ground, Jepson Way, Common Edge Road, Blackpool.

Due to the limitations on capacity, this game will be all ticket.

Adults £5.00
Senior citizens and juniors £2.50


Trafford FC - 31st July 2007

FC United are pleased to announce a friendly against Trafford FC on Tuesday 31st July 2007.

Trafford finished 5th in the North West Counties Football League and they gave FC United a good run for their money in the league fixture at Gigg Lane in April.

FC United have forged a good friendship with Trafford FC and are looking forward to the evening friendly in July.

AFC Wimbledon 4th August 2007

FC United of Manchester and AFC Wimbledon are delighted to announce that we will meet in a pre-season friendly at Kingsmeadow, on Saturday 4 August 2007.

This will be the third game between two of the leading Trust-owned clubs. While the game is a friendly, previous matches have been highly competitive and we expect this one to be no different.

Arrangements for ticket sales and prices will be published nearer the time of the game.


Ashton United 11th August 2007

FC United are pleased to announce a friendly with Ashton United on Saturday 11th August 2007.

Ashton United finished 18th in the Northern Premier (Unibond) league premier division.

Karl said of the friendly ’like the other friendlies planned this year it will be a great test for our players, with Ashton being in a higher league’

Karl also added ’it will be good to go back to a club where both myself and Darren enjoyed playing’
