Who are FC United of Manchester? Five things to know...

FC United of Manchester host Doncaster Rovers in the first round proper of the Emirates FA Cup at 5:30pm this Saturday, with the match live on BBC Two – due to that, this might be your first time on our website, so: who are we? Here are five things to know about our club...

1. FC United is a not-for-profit, community football club that is owned by and democratically run on a ‘one member, one vote’ basis by its supporters. Click here to read more.

2. The club was established in 2005 in protest to Malcolm Glazer’s hostile takeover of Manchester United but that wasn’t the only reason and we’ve come a long way since then. Click here to read more about our brief history.

3. Thanks to our founding principles, the club is committed to delivering affordable football to as many people as possible and has developed strong links with the local community. Click here to read more about our community work.

4. The club’s supporters helped to fund our 4,700 capacity ground at Broadhurst Park, Moston which opened in May 2015 with thanks also to Manchester City Council, Sport England and the Football Foundation. Click here to watch a video of the opening night against Benfica.

5. During the pandemic, FC United has used Broadhurst Park to run one of Manchester’s busiest food hubs with volunteers providing food, supplies and comfort to hundreds of people who need it most. Click here to find out more.

Oh, and one last thing – no, we’re not "Gary Neville’s lot" and we’re not owned by The Class of ’92. That’s our friends over at Salford City. FC United is our club, our rules.
