A draw is not good enough

A draw in the first leg of tonight’s D-Zine (Contractors) Ltd League Challenge Cup semi-final against Congleton Town would not be good enough for manager Karl Marginson.

When asked whether he would be happy to come away with the scores level after the away leg at Wincham Park, Margy simply replied, "No,"?? before adding: "We want to win. We’re going there to get a positive result."??

Margy knows that the Bears will provide tough opposition, especially after they held United to a 1-1 stalemate in the league back in December at the same ground, but he is confident in his team’s ability. He said: "We know Congleton will work hard and be up for it, but we’ve scored the most and conceded the least out of any team in the competition so we’re not going to change the way we play."??

The Reds are likely to be without Gary Sampson and Dave Swarbrick tonight as both of them are struggling with groin injuries, but a whole host of players including Simon Carden, Josh Howard and Rhodri Giggs are more than capable of stepping up to take their places.

Congleton Town versus FC United of Manchester is tonight at Witton Albion’s Wincham Park with kick off at 7.45pm. Admission is pay on the gate priced £6 adults, £4 under-16s and OAPs, and £2 under-12s.
