eCYCM - 28th April Play-off Semi v Morpeth

eCYCM - 28th April Play-off Semi v MorpethSo the good news is that we have made the virtual playoffs and the game’s on Tuesday night, ’We’re playing Morpeth??’ you ask with a quizzically raised eyebrow.

Well yes, according the points per game thingy we would have been second and they would have been fifth apparently. So a home game v Morpeth beckons our lads on Tuesday evening. And an eCYCM is therefore also in prospect. We have some grand turns for you, including:

a specially recorded set from Michael Seal, from Proto Idiot and Michael Seal & The Be Positives;

new pieces from Oliver James Lomax. Oliver’s a 35 year old poet from Bolton but don’t panic as he is now based in Manchester. He has written a poem about the 53 Trees of the Western Road in Sheffield which featured on the One Show, and has been poet in residence at the Dylan Thomas Birthplace in Swansea;

A reminder of the day we all started dancing under the SMRE earlier this season when ska band Sleeping Ducks came to Moston;

more spoken word from Patrick T Davies, who was great performing at Malcolmses prior to the Atherton game that got called off;

a little bit from our friends at Mad Theatre;
a song from Spice Droans Over Strangeways, a band made up of born, adopted and honorary Mancunians, marking 30 years since the Strangeways prison riots. The video features archive footage from the time and reminders that the fight for rights for prisoners continues across the world;
and a ’From the Gigg Lane Archives’ moment with the Eccentronic Research Council, yes indeed featuring the lovely Maxine Peake.

And there’s more, but you’ll need to tune in to find out.

You will find tomorrow’s eCYCM by clicking here

The start time depends on whether or not it’s possible for the FCUM TV team to stream our Morpeth home game from earlier this season (Tunde’s debut, which with great timing we all read about in thriller writer Reno’s latest look back at the season) with a 7.45pm ko.

If it is (fingers crossed all) we will go live with Malcolmses at 6.30ish as a curtain raiser to the game. Otherwise we will go live ourselves in that 7.45 slot. Either way, bring on United (and head to the crowdfunder page No-Drain-No-Game and/or buy your virtual pound for the ground tickets if you can...)

Don’t mind betting we see a home win, and a virtual playoff final this coming Saturday afternoon...
