NEW SIGNINGS: Midfielder Josh Hmami and striker Dominic McGiveronWe are delighted to welcome midfielder Josh Hmami (18) to FC United, joining us on loan from Welsh Premier League side TNS; and striker Dominic McGiveron (22), who joins us from Norwegian fourth-tier side Valdres.


Josh Hmami was born in Oldham on 22.03.2000 and began his football career with Bolton Wanderers the age of nine and remained with them for seven years before moving to Barnsley where he spent a season in their under-16s squad.

Josh then joined Accrington Stanley on a two-year scholarship where he became the captain of their under-18s side. Training regularly with the first team and featuring in several behind-closed-doors friendlies, Hmami’s big break came on 30th December 2017 where he made his first team debut for Accrington against Grimsby Town. Last summer he joined The New Saints of Oswestry Town & Llansantffraid Football Club (known as TNS) and has been a regular in their first team squad.

Dominic McGiveron (22), joins us from Norwegian fourth-tier side Valdres. Born in Liverpool, he joined Liverpool FC as a youngster where he would spend six years. After a brief spell at Bootle FC in 2014/15, he signed for Nike Academy after impressing at the Nike Most Wanted Event 2014 at St. Georges Park. He battled against 42 other footballers from around the world to earn a spot at the club.

His most notable performances were against AS Monaco U19s where he scored two goals in a 4-2 win, and scored the winning goal away at Brighton & Hove Albion’s U21s team. McGiveron also played in the Nike Academy’s 2–1 win over FC Barcelona at Wembley Stadium on 21 November 2015, scoring the winning goal.

On 12 April 2016 McGiveron signed a professional contract with American side Kitsap Pumas. On his return to England, he spent a short time with Morecambe FC Development Squad, before being offered a trial in Finland with SJK 07. After an impressive performance in a trial game McGiveron was offered a contract with the U23 squad on 28 January 2017. On 14 March 2018, McGiveron signed for Norwegian fourth-tier side Valdres.

Both Hmami and McGiveron have been training with FC United for the last two weeks, whilst awaiting international clearance. Both will be available for selection for our league match away at Ashton United on Saturday 19th January.
