FA Trophy Preview: Hereford vs FC United of Manchester

FA Trophy Preview: Hereford vs FC United of ManchesterWe are back in cup action this today as we return to Edgar Street in the FA Trophy.

We make the trip to Hereford for the second time in two weeks, looking for a similar result as the last time, as we begin our FA Trophy campaign.

It’s been an enjoyable start to Neil Reynolds reign so far as we have picked up three wins out of six in all competitions, drawing twice and suffering only one defeat.

In our last game against AFC Telford in the league, we suffered our first defeat where we showed fight and character against a high-flying side, which can only provide momentum for us going forward into this game.

We make the familiar trip to Hereford having just recently played them two weeks ago, where we came out on top winning 3-1 in the league, with goals from then new signing Tom Peers and top scorer Kurt Willoughby.

Our opponents Hereford, are also starting their FA Trophy journey this weekend and they will be looking to use this as a distraction from the league, where they currently sit in the relegation zone.

The Bulls are currently on a poor run of form, where they have been on a run of ten games without a win in all competitions. However, Hereford will find some solace in the fact that they have made a previous appearance at Wembley when they took 20,00 fans to the FA Vase final in the 2015/16 season.

Harry White will be a player FC have to look out for as the former Barnsley man is Hereford’s top scorer this season with four goals.

Stats:

• FCUM’s best FA Trophy run was 2014-15 when they negotiated 6 rounds before losing 0-1 at National League Torquay United in the Quarter Finals.

• FCUM have been knocked 5 times at the first hurdle in the FA Trophy in 11 campaigns including each of the last three seasons.

• Hereford have won two, drawn two and lost five of their nine Home League games in 2018-19.
