Match Preview: Blyth Spartans vs FC United of Manchester Ahead of this afternoons match we take a closer look at todays opponents as we travel to Blyth looking for another victory on the road.

It’s been a solid start to life under new manager Neil Reynolds, as we look to build on two hard-earned points in his opening two games.

This afternoon we take on Blyth Spartans away from home in a game, which could see us move out of the relegation zone.

Despite only picking up two points from a possible six under Reynolds so far, we are still unbeaten in our last three games in all competitions with the game against Alfreton showing the progress we have made under the new gaffer.

Against Alfreton in our last game, we came so close to victory but were denied a first win at home this season in the 88th minute but our current form suggests things are on the up and momentum is building.

As for our opponents Blyth Spartans, they currently sit in 16th place in The National League North having picked up 16 points from a possible 42 available this season.

The Spartans are currently on a run of back-to-back victories away from home and have seemed to turn their poor early season form around.

In their last game, Blyth managed to pick up an impressive away win over 13th place Guiseley in a 3-1 win where Forward Daniel Maguire bagged a brace.

Speaking of Maguire, FC need to make sure they pay close attention to him as he is currently The Spartans top scorer with six goals this season. Maguire, who was a part of the EvoStik Northern Premier Division Team of the Year, has made 204 appearances and scored 126 goals for the club.

Facts:

FCUM won the first five previous meetings against Blyth before drawing two and losing the last two of the last three.

Robbie Dale has scored 197 goals in 620 appearances for the Spartans since his debut in 2005.

FCUM are unbeaten at Croft Park with 3 wins and 1 draw in 4 visits.
