FC United AGM - Sunday 25th NovemberFull details of the Annual General Meeting taking place this month are now available.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual General Meeting of FC United Limited will take place on Sunday 25th November 2018, at Broadhurst Park, 310 Lightbowne Road, Moston, Manchester, M40 0FJ - The meeting will commence at 11am - Registration opens at 10am.

FC United is established on a firm one member, one vote, democratic principles, and those principles are underlined by your opportunity to vote in General Meetings on the resolutions put to the membership and, in this case, in the Board election. Adult members who bought or renewed their membership before 28th October will be eligible to vote at the meeting.

The Annual General Meeting of the Club is the annual members’ meeting at which the Board reports to the members on the performance of the Club in the previous financial year (in this case, to 30th June 2018). The financial statements will be available before the AGM.

RESOLUTIONS AND MEMBERS VOTES

There are four Resolutions and three Members’ Votes to be voted on at the AGM. Full details of each Resolution and Members’ can be viewed on the Members Forum.

(Please note: The Resolutions and Members Votes were published in the recent match programme vrs Alfreton. There was an error in the numbering of the resolutions, so members should vote in line with the Resolutions published on the Members Forum, and not the match programme).

BOARD ELECTIONS

In accordance with the IPS rules, the Board can legally operate with any number from 2 members, up to a maximum of 8. There are seven vacancies on the Club’s Board and the Club has received one nomination. The candidate’s summary including Re-open Nominations are reproduced below.

The following candidate is standing for election to the Club Board:

Rule 69 of the Club’s Constitution provides that the half of the members of the Club Board who have served the longest at the date of the Annual General Meeting each year will resign.

Consequently, Adrian Seddon, Lawrence Gill, John Davies, George Baker will be stepping down after serving their 2 years. Lawrence Gill, John Davies and George Baker are not re standing. Paul Haworth will also step down in line with Rule 70. He is not re standing.

There are seven places available on the board and one candidate.

You may vote for the candidate; or vote to re-open nominations should you feel that the only candidate is unsuitable.

Questions for candidates

The members’ forum will be set up to enable members to post questions to candidates. The candidates’ forum will be open for members and candidates from Sunday 4th November 2018 until Sunday 11th November 2017, then for candidates only until Sunday 18th November 2017. Members without internet access may request a copy of the questions and answers by sending a stamped addressed envelope to the Club’s offices. There is additional opportunity for direct questioning of candidates at the AGM:

VOTING

Ballot forms and voting instructions can be accessed via the Members Forum. for those members wishing to register their votes by post or proxy. If you decide to vote by post or proxy, your completed forms must be returned to the Club’s registered offices, so that they arrive no later than 5pm on Tuesday 20th November 2018. A ballot box will be set up at the membership stall at the home game against AFC Telford United on Saturday 17th November 2018.
