Call for teachers and youth workers

FC United have put a call out for teachers and youth workers with an interest in supporting community events hosted by the club.

Earlier this season we held a "People United Day"?? to raise awareness of the Kick Racism Out of Football Campaign. This day was a great success, and several hundred young people from schools and community centres attended, many taking part in a parade on the pitch prior to kick-off.

Later this year we will be hosting a "Youth United Day"?? where young people from schools, junior football clubs, youth groups etc. can come along to a game and take part in our activities, as well as enjoy the big-match atmosphere of an FC United game. We are currently planning this event, and would like to invite teachers and youth workers to attend and share their views on how the day could be organised and what we could include to make it as successful and as rewarding for the youngsters as possible.

The evening will be very informal and brief, and will be introduced by Andy Walsh, who will talk about our community work and ambitions for Youth United Day. This will be followed by a workshop where we can discuss the ideas we wish to take forward to the event.

The meeting is being held on Tuesday evening at the Waldorf Hotel on Gore Street, Manchester. It is taking place from 7.00pm.

Please let John Thomason at the club know if you, or an appropriate representative of your school or college, are able to attend.

Contact John at johnthomason@fc-utd.co.uk or on 0161 236 1070.
