On Saturday 11th November kick off 3pm, FC United welcome AFC Telford United to Broadhurst Park in the National League North - Admission is pay on the gate: £10 Adults, £6 Concessions and £3 u/18s.
FC United return to league action on Saturday in the first of three crucial matches as we seek to move out of the bottom three. First up is AFC Telford United who currently occupy 13th spot on 22pts, 8 points above FC. Next up is Alfreton Town (15th on 20 points) at home on Tuesday night and finally a trip to Gainsborough (18th on 18 points) next Saturday.
On Tuesday night FC got back to winning ways with an impressive 3-0 win away at Salford City to book a Semi-Final place in the Manchester Premier Cup where we will travel to either Hyde United or West Didsbury & Chorlton in early February.
Caretaker Player/Manager Tom Greaves, opted to leave himself out of the starting line-up on Tuesday, giving Connor McCarthy a run out alongside Jason Gilchrist - who scored two of the goals on the night. Greaves also tested out a three-at-the-back formation which included Matty Hughes, Danny Brady and youngster Sam Baird, with Tom Walker and Joel Senior playing on the flanks.
Mike Jones, who played a key role in the build-up to FC’s third goal, was accompanied by the experienced Scott Kay and the talented Kieran Glynn in midfield, with Glynn calmly slotting in the second goal. A new addition to the squad, Tyrell Palmer, who has progressed to the first team squad after playing for Moston United this season, was given his first team debut coming on as a second half substitute.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s match Tom Greaves said "The next three games are huge for us, and we need to get off to a good start on Saturday. We should hopefully have Steve Irwin and Danny Wisdom fit again along with Zac Corbett returning from suspension. With how well the lads played on Tuesday at Moor Lane, it’s nice to have those sorts of selection decisions to make."
So get yourselves down to Broadhurst Park on Saturday and help cheer the Reds onto victory.
