On Saturday 11th March, kick off 3pm, FC United welcome Tamworth to Broadhurst Park in the National League North. Admission is pay on the gate: £9 Adults, £5 Conc, £2 u/18s.

FC United go into this match on the back of two league wins against Gloucester and Kidderminster, and are now 11 points clear of relegation in 13th position. Last Saturday Tamworth beat Salford City 2-0 at home, bouncing back from their 3-1 away defeat at Fylde the previous week.

Tamworth are 8th in the league but just two points off a play-off place having won 16, drawing 5 and losing 11 matches so far this season. FC United and Tamworth share a similar goals for and away tally, with Tamworth scoring and conceding 53 goals and FC scoring 51 and conceding 52.

When the two teams met earlier this season on Tamworth’s newly laid 3G Pitch honours were even, with FC loan signing James Hooper levelling for the Reds 11 minutes from time. Last season both matches with Tamworth also ended in 1-1 draws.

Board Member John Davies is hosting a Volunteer Surgery between 11.30am until 12.30pm on Saturday in the Community Cabin at Broadhurst Park. All FC United volunteers are invited to attend to report to any concerns that our volunteering team may have and also to look to the future as to how volunteers may best be able to assist the club.

John is aware that finding a time suitable to all will be close to impossible but hopes that we can divide the hour up so that volunteer groups or volunteers as individual will be able to attend and pass on their views. Due to the fact that many volunteers will have duties to perform we will look to finish at 12.30pm

If the time is inconvenient any volunteer should feel able to email johndavies@fc-utd.co.uk and if you leave your contact details and he will respond as soon as he can.

We would also like to suggest that anyone interested in becoming a volunteer could attend and see what we have to offer and maybe shadow a volunteer on the day.

BY CAR

From Central Manchester
From central Manchester head out of town on the A62 Oldham Road until the junction with Monsall Road. Turn left and pass Central Park Metrolink on your left and take the next right at the roundabout and follow the road ahead straight across another roundabout which takes you onto Lightbowne Road. Follow the road for around half a mile and you will see Broadhurst Park on your right hand side.

From the M60 – Clockwise
If travelling via the motorway network from the north and west, head for the M60 Manchester ring road. Leave the M60 at junction 20, then turn onto the A664. At the traffic signals turn left onto the A6104. Travel straight on and then at the Greengate roundabout take the 4th exit onto Lightbowne Road, the B6393. Carry straight on for around a half a mile and Broadhurst Park is on your left.

From the M60 - Anti-clockwise
If travelling via the motorway network from the south and east, head for the M60 Manchester ring road. Leave the M60 at junction 22, then straight on to Hollingwood Avenue, the A6104 . Travel straight on and then at the Greengate roundabout take the 1st exit onto Lightbowne Road, the B6393. Carry straight on for around a half a mile and Broadhurst Park is on your left.

CAR PARKING

We would urge supporters to use the car parks we have available for a charge of £5.00 at the ground and for £3.00 at the nearby St Mathews School, only 3 minutes’ walk of the ground. We have arranged with St Mathews to increase the area available to use for matchday parking and £3.00 for secure and monitored parking is very reasonable and helps us in our relationship with our Moston neighbours.

We are under a duty to ensure areas such as St Mary’s Road and the north of Nuthurst Road are not used by visitors to Broadhurst Park.

Supporters should be mindful that there is no parking on:
  • St Mary’s Road and the streets off St Mary’s Road;
  • Nuthurst Road;
  • the West side of Moston Lane and the streets off it.

  • We can always use more volunteers to act as traffic marshals and indeed for a number of matchday functions, so if you can help, send an email to John Davies johndavies@fc-utd.co.uk or telephone the office on 0161 769 2005 and leave a phone number for him to contact you to discuss.

    Enjoy the game.
