Chadwick banned but Rudd is back

Manager Karl Marginson was pleased to announce that Stuart Rudd should be back leading the attack on Saturday against Quorn FC after missing last Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Congleton with a hamstring injury.

The bad news is that club captain David Chadwick is suspended for the game after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in the previous round of the FA Carlsberg Vase against Salford City.

Ready made replacement Dave Brown is also cup tied due to playing for The Ammies early in the competition during his brief spell with the club at the beginning of the season, so former Leigh RMI centre back Liam Coyne will step in to the breach to partner Rob Nugent.

Margy admits that it will be a tough test for the Stretford teenager but he is sure that it is one he is ready to take on. He said: "It’s a big game for Liam, but he’s well up for it and I’m sure he’ll be fine."??

There may be another new face in defence too. The back room staff have been impressed with Shaun Roscoe’s performances in the Reserves and he could be set to come in at left back with Alex Mortimer pushing into midfield as Rhodri Giggs is likely to start on the bench after recovering from a groin injury.

Margy is eager to get back to winning ways, putting the club’s worst ever run of one defeat and one draw behind them and he is confident it is all in their own hands. He said: "We’ve just got to do what we can do and then we’re a match for anyone at this level."??

FC United versus Quorn FC is this Saturday 9th December, kick off 3pm. It’s pay on the gate with entrance prices at £7 for adults, £5 for over-60s and £2 for under-18s. It should also be noted, particularly for supporters going to the derby, that a late turnstile will be open at Gigg Lane until 3.45pm.
