Board Statement re Mr John-Paul O'Neill

There follows below a statement from the FC United Board regarding Mr John-Paul O’Neill.

Around the time of November’s AGM personnel connected to the Board and staff of FC United of Manchester inadvertently and without intent caused the mistaken impression to be circulated amongst club members that the matter of FC United’s founder John-Paul O’Neill being denied renewal of his membership of the club was in some way connected to a wholly separate incident of threats being made to club staff. It should be made clear that the matter of these threats was nothing to do with John-Paul O’Neill. We would like to take this opportunity to apologise to Mr O’Neill and to put the record straight for anyone still under the mistaken impression about previous misguided rumours regarding his culpability in this regard.

Furthermore, in accordance with the club’s rules the matter of Mr JP O’Neill’s membership is now the subject of independent arbitration and the club, along with Mr O’Neill, have agreed to abide by whatever decision is thereby reached.
