Finance Committee - Vacancies for co-owners to participate
The Finance and Risk Committee is a sub-committee of the Club Board, and there are now at two vacancies available to co-owners who would like to assist in this key area in the running of the Club.
We would like to thank both Jonathan Kendall and Phil Sheeran for their diligent work and time commitment during their tenure over the last few years.
The Committee formally meets four times a year, with a differing focus at each meeting, based upon the club operation and business cycle. The main purpose is to ensure the Club maintains good financial record keeping, planning and accountability. It also acts to ensure the Club remains solvent and in sound financial health, whilst acting in accordance with the Club’s constitution, policies and values. Involvement of members in this important committee is instrumental in helping ensure a transparent and financially healthy club.
Who sits on the Finance Committee? There is a requirement for at least 2 co-owners (currently 3, but plan is for 5), as well as the board representative for Finance and the Board Convenor. Also in attendance at the meetings is the General Manager and Finance Manager.
Who are we looking for? Members with qualifications and/or experience in finance, audit or general commercial business management. We would be particularly interested in members who have experience of running community facilities, sports facilities or catering and events venues.
What is the time commitment? There are four meetings a year, but your services maybe required at any time to assist.
How do the meetings work? The meetings are held at Broadhurst Park and last around two hours. It is possible to attend the meeting by phone.
What is the process? Please initially contact timworrall@fc-utd.co.uk with summary details of your experience and he will contact you directly to discuss the next steps. Please note that your email will be shared with other members of the committee.
When is the deadline? The deadline for applications is Friday 8th April, 2016. The first meeting will then be Thursday 26th May.
