New man in goal for FC as Margy's men face Alfreton at Broadhurst Park

New man in goal for FC as Margy’s men face Alfreton at Broadhurst ParkFC United will have a new goalkeeper for Saturday’s game against Alfreton Town, as Dylan Forth makes his debut for the Reds, replacing the injured Dave Carnell.

Originally signed a few weeks ago from Chester on a recommendation from former FC keeper Jon Worsnop, Forth, 19, is on a dual registration with Witton Albion and has previously played for the Aston Villa development squad.

Manager Karl Marginson will be looking for his side to bounce back after the disappointing result at Telford in midweek when his team fielded three goalkeepers due to the injury to Dave Carnell and then the sending off of stand-in keeper Sam Madeley.

Alfreton Town currently lie in ninth place in the league and their recent form is impressive. They are unbeaten in their last nine league and cup games and are seeking a fourth successive away league victory. Margy is expecting a tough game. "I saw Alfreton away against Curzon Ashton and they were very well organised. I’ve known Nicky Law for a good number of years and his sides are always well organised, tough to beat and will compete. At the end of the day though, we’re at home and we need to put the Telford result behind us and take the game to our opponents," he said.

In the last two games at Broadhurst Park, supporters have seen the Reds score ten goals and take six points. Margy will be looking for more of the same on Saturday to see his side climb further up the table and put the bad night in Telford behind them.

FC United v Alfreton Town kicks off at 3pm on Saturday 13 February. Get yourself to that football ground.
