Rudd and Howard are back

In an amazing turnaround of events FC United manager Karl Marginson was delighted to announce that, contrary to earlier reports, the North West Counties Division One top scorer Stuart Rudd will be available for selection this Saturday against Maine Road.

Rudd came through training fine on Thursday night along with Josh Howard and both are raring to go in what promises to be a great derby day this Saturday at Stalybridge’s Bower Fold stadium.

Margy explained exactly why there had been some confusion. He said: "Stuart took a kick to the side of the head during the game against Glossop, so he went to hospital for some x-rays. It was really badly swollen and because of that they thought he might have fractured his eye socket.

"But during the week he asked Mark Cooney (physio) for a second opinion and then after that he went back to the hospital and the x-rays have shown there’s no fracture. He’s come through training fine, so we should be at full strength for Saturday."??

The news is bound to delight FC United fans everywhere as Rudd will now be on the prowl, eager to add to his incredible tally of 21 goals in 19 appearances so far this season.
