Matthew Ludlam

We have been extremely saddened to learn of the untimely passing of Matthew Ludlam. Matthew was not only an FC United supporter but also worked with his mother, Kath, for Ludlam Associates who have been FC’s planning consultants and intimately involved in the stadium all the way through the development.

Matthew assisted planning work on both Ten Acres Lane and Broadhurst Park and was a source of calm, sound advice. With Kath he helped us through some difficult stages in the process, not least when the Moston development began, helping to deliver challenging consultation events during the Broadhurst Park planning process. There are few planning consultants (or clubs!) that have delivered two successful football stadium planning applications within two years of each other.

The last time we saw Matthew was, fittingly, at the Benfica match, chatting and smiling and proud of his involvement in what had been achieved.

Those on the project team who knew or worked with Matthew have been very shocked by the news and the thoughts of everyone at FC are with Kath and her partner Rob at this sad time.

The club will be represented at any forthcoming service.
