Homes of Football film well worth a look

A new film which highlights the work of photographer Stuart Roy Clarke is well worth a look. The Homes of Football has been produced by the National Football Museum and chronicles Stuart’s work which photographs with great care and attention footballing scenes from a range of settings.

Stuart is a regular visitor to FC United matches and his work is by degrees exciting, thought provoking and often very moving and this comes across in the Homes of Football film. The film and Stuart’s accompanying exhibition at the National Football Museum looks at the changing face of football from the late 20th century onwards.

Aware of how developments in the game following the Hillsborough disaster of 1989 were going to change the face of football, Stuart began to capture the atmosphere and emotion of fans up and down the country. His photographs show the human side of the game’s greatest asset - its fans.

Now into his third decade of the project, Stuart has travelled the length and breadth of the British Isles to capture the game as it is played at every level.

You can view the Homes of Football film here.

A selection of Stuart’s books are available from his website here.

You can also view the Homes of Football exhibition at the National Football Museum which houses his collection.
