People United Day

People United Day

As part of "Kick Out Racism"?? week, FC United is using its home fixture with Glossop North End at 3pm on Saturday 28th October as the platform for a People United Day.

The day, with the fixture as an "Under 18s Go Free Game"??, will involve schools and colleges being invited to bring along anti-racist banners, placards and whatever else they consider to be apt to show opposition to racism and support for uniting our communities. Accompanying schools’ staff (and college staff, if appropriate) will be given passes to the game.

The club is also encouraging its supporters’ groups, sponsors and other community organisations to follow suit wherever possible, and arrive by 2.30pm so that Gigg Lane is awash with banners, which will then be paraded around the ground.

Glossop North End FC has also been invited to participate in our demonstration of unity.

It is hoped that our supporters will use all their renowned inventiveness and whit to magic new ways of turning our People United Day into one that will be remembered for our solidarity, good humour and determination to root out racism and build on the unity of our communities.
