Crowdfunder campaign - initial target reached, now help us kit out the kitchen

FC United is delighted to announce that we have managed to break our £26k Crowdfunder target and so we can say with confidence that we will be kitting out the function room and community space at our new ground. This achievement is an incredible effort after only four weeks of the campaign and a massive thank you is due to everyone who has pledged.

FC United general manager Andy Walsh said: "Reaching our initial funding target after just four weeks of an eight-week campaign means that we still have another four weeks to go. It’s a great position to be in. The success of the campaign so far has amazed us all, getting to our target with 26 days to spare. It shows that there is massive support for a different way of doing football and FC United and our supporters should be proud of what we have achieved."

Because of the efforts of our backers we have now started a new phase of the Crowdfunder campaign called "overfunding". It’s all about keeping the momentum going. The function room is now funded, but additional pledges will go a long way towards kitting out other parts of the ground. A key part of servicing the function room and community space for meetings and events will be the kitchen facility which is right next door. We need a fully fitted kitchen to allow us to be self-sufficient for catered events and on a match day. We’ve calculated that we need to raise around £20k to buy what we need to kit out the kitchen and with your help, we think we have a great chance of doing it.

Phil Geraghty, managing director of Crowdfunder UK said: "We’ve been hugely impressed by the backing FC United has received to kit out Broadhurst Park. The Kit it Out campaign looks already to be the most supported sports project the UK crowdfunding industry has ever seen - and there’s still four weeks to go. FC United are showing how a football club should work, and its fantastic to be a part of it."

If you’ve not yet pledged your support please consider doing so today. You’ll be doing so secure in the knowledge that every pound pledged will come to FC United because our initial target has been reached and the Crowdfunding money we’ve raised is now guaranteed. You can also support the campaign by letting others know about it and by sharing the link to our Crowdfunding page on Twitter and Facebook.

As an added incentive for people to pledge, we have also launched two tasty new kitchen-themed rewards:

£75 – An item on the menu will be named after you on a matchday.
£200 – A meal for four in the function room at a special evening celebration event on Thursday 4 December 2014.

Please share the success story of our campaign and let people know that we’re not quitting at £26k. Let’s keep up the momentum, raise another £20k and kit out that kitchen!
