Margy believes blip is over ahead of trip to Kings Lynn

FC United manager Karl Marginson believes that the Reds have put a ’blip’ of bad results behind them and is relishing the prospect of taking his team to Kings Lynn for the first time.

United ended a run of four consecutive defeats by beating Marine at Bower Fold last Saturday and then gaining a 1-1 draw at Nantwich in midweek. United are now in sixth place in the Evo-Stik Premier Division and just five points behind the league leaders, AFC Fylde.

A big crowd is expected as we travel to Kings Lynn Town for the first ever time on Saturday, having originally been scheduled to meet the Linnets in the 2009-10 season before the club went bankrupt.

United have a reasonably clean bill of health for tomorrow’s match, David Birch will be missing due to pulling his hamstring at Nantwich but the Reds will be boosted by the return from suspension of young centre-back Tom Davies. Fellow centre-half, Adam Jones is also making good progress, having played a full 90 minutes for the Development Team in midweek in which he suffered no adverse effects.

Margy says that everyone at the club has the mental toughness to bounce back from the four defeats at the end of September. He said: "Last month, when things weren’t going our way, I told the players to not stop believing in themselves. We’ve never been a bad team and we are more than capable of turning the situation around. There are plenty of points to play for this season."

And Margy says the management team and the players are looking forward to Saturday’s match as much as the supporters. He said: "It’s a step into the unknown and it’s always enjoyable to meet new people and play against different teams. Hopefully, we’ll be able to put on a good occasion for everyone to enjoy."

Kings Lynn Town versus FC United of Manchester is this Saturday at The Walks. It’s pay on the gate as usual at the traditional and supporter friendly time of three o’clock. Get yourself to that football ground.
