FC United of Manchester FC United of Manchester FC United of Manchester Badge FC United of Manchester Pitch In

A Big Thank You

A big thank you to all those supporters who put so much effort into promoting Saturday’s fixture with Atherton Collieries. Even though the game was called off on the instruction of the police due to flooding on the A56, there were still some bonuses for us. BBC Radio Manchester gave us plenty of coverage, including interviews with the club management and players.

Our reserves at least got a bonus when a couple of hundred irrepressible, undrownable fans altered their travel plans and attended the game with Ashton Town that resulted in a 0-0 draw.

We are also sure that thousands of people that picked up leaflets about the game will have the issue of supporting FC United firmly lodged in their minds. Any supporters, who during the push for the game discovered new successful means of promoting the club, are asked to let sponsorship@fc-utd.uk know so that we can spread the word. The gods may have poured on our parade on Saturday but the determination to spread the word about FC will continue.

The next "Under 18s free"?? match at Gigg Lane will be the 3pm fixture with Silsden on September 16th, which is being sponsored by northerncare. northerncare are running a football tournament for young people in care before the game, and we expect many of these young people to be at the match.

Leaflets and posters to promote the match will be issued shortly.
