Your matchday programme - full of Bulls...

Saturday’s matchday programme casts its collective mind back to 1990. We were past the ’three years of excuses’, but Manchester United were still in the doldrums. After Mark Robins’ goal at Nottingham Forest had put the reds into the fourth round of the FA Cup there was trepidation when United were drawn away at potential giant killers Hereford.

Footage of Ronnie Radford’s spectacular goal against Newcastle in the early 1970s was replayed over and over again and it was widely thought the reds could crash out to yet another giant killing, which surely would have put the nail in Ferguson’s managerial coffin.

People talk about Robins’ goal saving Ferguson’s job, but the importance of Clayton Blackmore’s strike at Edgar Street cannot be underestimated.

Many FC fans will have been there that day and two have written about their experiences for the programme on Saturday.

Bringing things up to date we have a four-page special on the visitors and an interview with reds’ defender Charlie Anderson, who’s father Viv featured for United at Edgar Street that famous day.

The AGM is on the horizon so we have taken advantage of some extra space in the programme, due to it being a cup game, to fit in a seven-page preview with all the resolutions and board candidates featured. Thanks must go to chief programme seller Dave Pelham for mithering us to death about it.

We also have our monthly FCUth page and Steve Wood casts his archival mind back to January and February 2006 when the red army reached Blackpool.

There are the usual match reports, news, Meet the Owners and stats, all for just £2, which goes to your football club.
