Your matchday programme

Saturday’s match programme contains an interview with an FC fan who met the queen, Bobby Charlton and some bloke called Olly Murs on her way to representing Manchester at the London Olympics.

We also look back into our archives to the month when we had to open Gigg Lane’s Cemetery End for the first time and Adie Orr was banging goals in for fun. FC had a tough trip to Colne in the North West Counties Challenge Cup and we seemed to play Cheadle Town a lot.

Can you guess what period we are talking about? Read the programme to find out.

We also have some summertime musings and a right crank in Meet the Owners.

On a poignant note we have a tribute to Ben Obiora in our FCUth section. Former FC ballboy Ben died last year while playing football. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family at FC United.

We have the usual match reports, ace pictures from our team of crack-shot (that’s ’shot’, not ’pot’) snappers and a stats special on the distances we will be travelling this season.

All this for £2 to the benefit of your football club.

Don’t forget pdf versions of the programme can now be purchased from the downloads section of club shop at fc-utd.co.uk/shop for £1.50 per game or £30 for every issue this season, which will include all back issues you have missed from 2012-13.

We had some teething problems with the system on Tuesday night, so apologies to anyone who was unable to purchase the Whitby programme. You should be able to now, if you visit the shop. All is sorted for Matlock this Saturday.

Please keep the articles, comments, suggestions, Meet the Owners applications and birthday requests coming to programme@fc-utd.uk
