Justin Moorhouse is the latest in a long list of stars of stage and screen to support FC United’s Big Coat Day.

Backing for Big Coat Day is growing. Supporting the initiative and urging their staff to donate are Bury Council, the Royal Mail who have promoted the day to all their delivery staff, Guiness Northern Counties Housing Association and the Fire Service, who are delivering their haul of clothing in a fire engine on the day. The match itself, FC’s local derby v Ashton, is free for under-18s and will feature an FC brass band to foster a genuine Xmas family feel to the day.

FC United general manager Andy Walsh said: "As a community football club that seeks to make a positive difference, we are delighted to be organising Big Coat Day again this year. Thousands of people in the north west die needlessly each year as a result of the cold and by harnessing the generosity of our fans, our partners and other local people we hope to do something about this."
