FC Job Vacancy

FC United of Manchester are looking for a consultant to help us with our Wellbeing Project for older people in North Manchester.

The Wellbeing Project is run by volunteers and takes older people to FC United matches and organises volunteers to visit older people who are struggling to live on their own in the community.

The project is, as far as we know, unique in football although there are many fine examples of non-football projects like this around the country. The project is focussed on the areas of Miles Platting and Newton Heath which include areas of extreme deprivation.

We are looking for a person who can take on a three month contract who;

• Has good project management skills
• Has proven people management skills
• Has experience of devising and establishing management systems
• Has experience of wellbeing and/or good neighbour projects
• Is a self-starter who can make things happen

The consultant will be required to;

• Help us to double the number of volunteers currently involved in the project
• Establish robust systems and procedures for the project
• Establish robust reporting systems for the project
• Prepare at least one grant application to allow the project to continue for another 12 months
• Establish good links with partner organisations in the community
• Ensure the delivery of a training programme for existing and new volunteers

The club needs to appoint an appropriate consultant very quickly. If you think you can make a difference to our project, please email the General Manager Andy Walsh office@fc-utd.uk with a c.v. and a covering email explaining why you think we should appoint you and when you would be able to start the work.
