Manchester Day Parade Arrangements and Update

There was a final preparation meeting at Manchester Town Hall last night (Thursday 16th June) for the Manchester Day Parade on Sunday.
There were a lot of groups there who we have worked with in the community or that were aware of us through Youth United Day, People United Day and Senior United Days as well as other past events.

Two FCers went to the artists workshop at Salford to see the float and have reported that it looks impressive and that it should look great in the parade. Even more so with our youngsters and also those not so young who will be there on the day.

All who are taking part need to be at Liverpool Road for 12.30 for a quick run through and must be assembled in place no later than 13.30.

Water is available throughout the route and there are some food concessions on Liverpool Rd near to the assembly point.

Can all participants please try to wear red tops, preferably FC tops, and black or dark colours for the rest of the outfit .

We are still accepting entrants for the FC contingent for the parade so if you want to take part please just turn up on the day or contact vinnythompson@fc-utd.co.uk to register an interest.

There are various music groups playing en route and some bands in the parade. The event is sponsored by the Co Operative and a post parade party will take place in Albert Square from 15.30 to 18.30 with free food from the Co Op and music and sound stages as well as plenty of other fun for the kids. Not forgetting the fact that it is all free.

With an audience of above 40,000 expected this should be a great day.
