FC at Prestwich Carnival - Sunday 19th June

If you can’t get into Manchester for Sunday’s Manchester Day Parade to support FC United’s participation in that major event, FC United also have a presence that day at Prestwich Carnival.

The Prestwich Carnival is one of the last independent carnivals left in Greater Manchester and one of the most popular events has always been the managers/coaches/parents of the junior football teams versus " the challengers". This year the carnival didn’t have an opposition until FC United stepped in. Darren Lyons will provide a representative team to play in a friendly seven a side game - it’s even rumoured that Karl (I’ve made more comebacks than Frank Sinatra) Marginson will appear!
The game will kick off at 3-00 pm on St Mary’s field in Prestwich, which is 10mins from Prestwich metrolink. (Five minutes from J 17 on the M60 - sat nav postcode M25 1AQ).

If you want to bring the kids there’s a traditional funfair, a live stage with tribute acts to Take That, Kylie, Lady GaGa and the Blues Brothers. The
army have provided an assault course, a paint ball range and a 40ft high, 300ft zip wire. There’s over 60 stalls, with plenty of food and of course a beer tent.

The carnival starts at 1-30pm with a parade around Prestwich.
