Open trials for FC United Youth Team - Thursday 19th May

FC United will be holding open trials for the Youth Team next Thursday 19th May and any young footballers who will still be under the age of 18 on the 31st August 2011 are invited to attend.

The trials will be taking place from 7 to 9pm at The Manchester College, Nicholls Campus, Hyde Road, Ardwick, Manchester, M12 6BA.

The Youth Team will be attempting to retain the North West Youth Alliance title but glory is not the main priority for manager Chuks Akuneto as he searches for a new crop of youngsters.

Chuks said: “Winning titles and trophies is nice but it is not that important to me. My main focus is helping each of the players to develop to their full potential.”

The efforts of Chuks and his predecessors have seen a number of success stories over the years as FC United aims to give young people a good grounding in football and the chance to progress to the next level.

Just this season, Youth Team member Scott Cheetham was selected for English Schools FA Under-18 International Squad and team-mate Matthew Tierney broke into the FC United first team, making 12 appearances in the second half of the season.

If you are interested in attending the trials, please just come down on the night. If you have any further enquiries, please contact the club on 0161 273 8950 or email office@fc-utd.co.uk.
