Six hour on-air fundraising marathon - this Sunday

This Sunday, FCUM Radio is hosting a six hour live fundraising marathon for FC United from 6pm on www.fcumradio.co.uk and you can request a song of your choice for a £5 pledge.

With Monday marking the end of FC United’s Community Shares Scheme, which has been raising funds for the club’s move to Ten Acres Lane, the show on Sunday will be providing entertainment whilst calling for last minute applications to the Community Shares Scheme and donations the Development Fund.

Guests will be joining the FCUM Radio crew in the studio and on the phone as we aim to get FC United into its new home by the start of the 2012/13 season. Listeners have the opportunity to requests songs and make a pledge towards Ten Aces Lane. Each request must come with a pledge and we’re hoping to raise a shed load of money on Sunday to go towards the fund.

FCUM Radio is asking for minimum pledges of £5. That may sound steep but there are only a certain number of hours in the day to broadcast these requests, so each one needs to be worth it to the fund.

If you’d like to pledge and request then send an email to station@fcumradio.co.uk with details of how much you’d like to pledge and details of your request. FCUM Radio can guarantee that there will be no music snobbery on display on Sunday. All requests will get played and announced. You can either pay it directly to the Development Fund or give the cash to FCUM Radio and they will sort pass it on.

Where will your money go? It will go to the FC United of Manchester Development Fund. The DF was set up just over three seasons ago and we have now raised a fantastic £350,000 towards our own ground.
