6 days to go - Celebration Sunday with Steve Evets!!

What better way to celebrate the team’s march to Wembley than with Looking for Eric star, Steve Evets? Steve is once more leading the FC Minithon out on Sunday where you will see a host of other stars (our supporters are all stars) who appeared in the film.

"Next Sunday, when FC United fans and players are running and crawling to raise money for Frost Foundation children’s charity and the club, I’ll be leading them again in the warm up exercises, which Eric and I did in the film." says Steve.

To reach our targets we need another 100 Minithon participants each raising £50. So you and your mates can help by signing up and then passing the cap/email around work colleagues and social friends. The Manchester event, starting from Chorlton Green at noon on October 17th, is also a fun day out. Get your friends and family down. They can also enjoy a post ’match’ pint, refreshments and entertainment in Chorlton Irish Club.

With the first £5,000 now raised for the Minithon, Tameside is Red’s Vinny Thompson (£647) is still streaking ahead of the field. The Tameside streaker is followed by Didsbury branch’s Sam Mullock (£330). Fast catching Sam up are the Los Angeles Minithon crew (£235), who have left Andy Walsh (£215) and Sheikh Hayden of Dubai (£200) for dead.

Congratulations to Joy Whelan (£154) who has replaced Lindsey Robertson (£115) as Leading Lady, speeding past John Stacey (£147. The Wooly’s and Simmo are also making a dash for the line, passing Ben Hughes (£115) Edward Noone (£115 and first of the Battersea Babes) and Sean Gallimore (£115). On the pitch form has also seen hot money put on Carlos Rocca and Sam Ashton.

Andy Walsh, FC General Manager is looking forward to taking part, pointing to it being a great family event: "Those with families and the crawlers will be pleased to learn that we have hired two knowledgeable local wildlife enthusiasts who will give talks about the wild birds and beasties as we cross Chorlton Meadows . Young people are also being offered Achievement Certificates to use for their school etc and family entertainment follows the Minithon in Chorlton Irish Club."??

You can crawl, walk or run for FC in Manchester, Wimbledon, Battersea Park, LA, Boston, Sydney or Dubai so gear up and have a laugh.

Prizes are on offer for the best dressed branches, best dressed adults and juniors, best headgear, fastest dog and owner, fastest player, fastest male and female adults and under 18s. (Only those adults that have raised a minimum of £50 sponsorship are eligible for prizes). So you don’t have to be fit to be a winner, you need to be fun.
