Friendly v Oldham Boro, Thursday 15 July - kick-off 7.30pm

Friendly game - Oldham Borough v FC United XI, Thursday 15 July 2010.

Oldham Borough, formerly known as Oldham Town, have kindly agreed to host a friendly game to replace the match against West Didsbury and Chorlton, which unfortunately had to be cancelled. We’re very grateful to Oldham Borough for agreeing to stage this game at such short notice.

In our inaugural season, 2005-06, we played two memorable games aganst Oldham Town as the club were then known. The first was an atmospheric night game at Gigg Lane, which was a narrow 1-0 victory, courtesy of a classic Simon Carden lofted volley. Playing for Oldham Town on that day was a young Lee Neville, who has just signed for FC United.

The away game was another night game, which was the first of several games moved to Oldham Athletic’s Boundary Park, where the travelling FC United hordes created a bouncing atmosphere. This game set Oldham Town/Borough’s home attendance record and was another narrow 1-0 victory for FC United; this time with a classic David Chadwick goal, deflected off his knee!

Please note that this match will be on Thursday 15 July, not the Wednesday as originally scheduled for the West Didsbury and Chorlton game.

We may not have time to post up full match details, but the key information is:

- The game will be played at Whitebank Stadium, White Bank Road, Oldham, OL8 3JH.

- Admission will be £5 adults (Concession and Junior prices will be available, but we haven’t got details yet).

- Kick off will be 7.30pm.
