Kendal calling in Challenge Cup

FC United make the trip up to Cumbria on Tuesday night to take on Kendal in the third round of the UniBond League Challenge Cup.

The Reds expect to be without Jerome Wright until the end of the month or possibly the New Year as he has undergone a hernia operation.

Ludovic Quistin filled in for Wright, who was also serving a one match ban, on the left wing during Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Whitby. The 25-year-old Guadeloupe international will be relishing the chance to show what he can do in his preferred position after starting his FC United career with six solid appearances as a full-back.

Manager Karl Margisnon may opt to mix things up a little during Wright’s absence though. He said: "We looked at a 4-3-3 formation at Hucknall a few weeks ago and that might be on the cards whilst Jerome is out."??

Danny Warrender is now back to full fitness and came through Saturday’s 90 minutes unscathed. He did however pick up his fifth yellow card of the season which means he will miss United’s trip to Guiseley a week on Sunday.

The match also provides the opportunity to get Rob Nugent some playing time under his belt; United’s longest serving player is still recovering from a leg injured sustained at Lancaster on Halloween.

There may also be a cameo role for club captain David Chadwick who has been struggling with a hip injury which has kept him out of action for the last six matches. Marginson added: "Chaddy is a little bit off full fitness yet so we’ll continue to monitor him."??
