Rory Patterson and Will Ahern played in Grimsby reserves’ 2-1 defeat at York last night. Grimsby’s assistant manager Graham Rodger said of the pair, "they acquitted themselves well."
Karl Marginson attended the match, and echoed Rodger’s thoughts. "I thought they did really well," said Karl, "it was a difficult situation, Grimsby’s style is very different to the one to which they have become accustomed. They get the ball forward a lot quicker and it spends a lot more time in the air. It is also very hard to play for the first time with a team of strangers, so they should both be very happy with the way they performed. We’ll now see if anything comes from it."
