Scrubbing up well - your matchday programme

Ever wondered which make of power tools Margy prefers? Or whether he’s ever been on a float in a parade? Well the answers to those and many of life’s other crucial questions are contained in Saturday’s matchday programme.

Much to the dismay of the staticians among our crowd, there’s no match reports in it, but this has freed up space for a host of features ranging from Margy’s 20 questions to a review of MaD’s excellent play Angels with Manky Faces. It features Alf Marginson and a few of the players messing about and wowed audiences at the Library Theatre recently. Our reviewer won’t shut up about it.

There’s an excellent piece on the 100th anniversary of Manchester’s original football rebels The Outcasts and Talkative Chris takes you on a tour of our future haunts. He uncovers interesting, and plainly uninteresting, facts about the likes of Kings Lynn and Durham. For example, both places boast famous drummers - Roger Taylor of Queen fame hails from Kings and some pole dancing doctor comes from Durham.

As Burscough are the opponents there’s articles on their favourite son Bob Langton and their FA Trophy triumph at Villa Park in 2003.

All this, and more, for £2 to your football club.
