FC Fans Team v Toro Club

An FC United fans team has hired Radcliffe Borough football ground to play a friendly game against the Toro Club from San Maurizio D’Opaglio.

The match will be played on Sunday the 9th August, kick off 2pm and entrance to the game is free of charge. The Community Shield will also be shown in the Social Club from 3pm.

The first leg of the Toro Club vs FC United fans team
friendship game took place on the 9th May 2009. The match was played to mark the Turin air disaster of 1949 in which 18 Torino players were killed. Leslie Lievesley who played half-back for Manchester United from 1931-33 and was a Torino coach from 1948-49 was also killed.

Before kick off Toro Club team captain, Paolo Rossignoli and FC United team captain Tommy O’Neil exchanged pennants and a minute’s silence was held as a mark of respect. The game ended 3-1 to FC United.

The Toro Club will be traveling to Colwyn Bay on Saturday the 8th August to support FC United’s first team before taking on the fans team the day after.

As stated previously, all fans teams are organised independently of the club but we are keen to support all groups of fans who want to play football.

If you are organising a game and want it advertised on the club’s official website, please contact the office at office@fc-utd.uk
