Youth Team complete FA Level 1

Players from FC United Youth Team have just completed their first step on the coaching ladder following a week of tuition and practical assessment at The Manchester College. In all 17 players successfully passed their FA Level 1 in Football Coaching and it is hoped that the insight into coaching for the players will help them consider a football coaching pathway as a future career.

The Manchester College partnership with FC United has taken further steps forward this year and the link into community programmes and coach education is an area which both parties hope to continue next season.

’The partnership has a number of benefits but it is great to see a number of FC United players and staff taking part on our coach education programme this season. We hope that they can use this qualification in their work throughout Manchester to help develop FC United players of the future’ commented Manchester College Football Development Officer Simon Wright.

The Manchester College delivers FA Level 1, FA Level 2 and FA Referee’s courses at the Nicholls Football Centre. Players or students that are 16-18 can access fully funded courses.
