Margy loves a headache

Club captain David Chadwick will be available for selection tomorrow at Witton Albion after shaking off an illness, giving manager Karl Marginson another selection problem but the boss admits he loves it.

"It’s another headache for me. We’ve got competition for places all over the pitch but it’s really good for the club. The players all know that they have to perform to keep their place in the team which is great," says Margy.

"I have to disappoint some of the lads every week when I tell them they are not playing but they are all really good about it. The spirit in the camp is tremendous and they know that opportunities are there."

Margy pointed to Dave Neville as an example of a player waiting for their turn to come and suggested other players should be prepared to do the same. He said: "Dave has been really patient and he is getting his reward now, so I am going to stick with him and Si Carden in the centre of midfield, I don’t see any point in changing it at the moment."

With four wins out of the last five the Reds have made steady progress in the league and are now just two points away from the play-off places. Margy is understandably pleased about the situation. He said: "The most satisfying aspect has been three clean sheets in a row. If we can keep clean sheets, which we weren’t doing at the beginning of the season, then we can start to win more matches and there’s no reason why we can’t push for a fourth straight promotion."

Witton Albion versus FC United is Saturday at Wincham Park, Northwich with kick-off at 3pm. Get yourself to that football ground.
