Drinking in Accrington.

Drinking on Sunday - up for the CUP!

For those who have recovered from Stafford and fancy a Sunday pint Accrington town centre has lots of very decent pubs, however be warned it is then a fair walk to the ground. The Town of Accrington will also be remembering the many people it has lost in wars gone by, and expect a lot of people out and about after rememberance services etc.

Considering the 2 O’Clock kick off time it is probably best to get somewhere near to the ground (details on link in travel to Accrington).

The Social Club Is open before, during, and after the match.

The Crown Inn on Whalley Road which virtually overlooks the ground offers a warm welcome to all supporters for banter, swapping stories and a good chat before and after the game, in the pool room a collection of memorabilia has
been started to celebrate Accrington Stanley’s Promotion to the Conference league and the traveling Accrington fans always try to bring back something for the wall so any scarves badges etc from your club are welcome for the
display Due it’s close proximity to the ground you would need to get in here early - it will get very busy.

The other recommendation close to the ground is "The Oaklea" 5 minutes further away and an ex social club with plenty of room including a snooker table!

If the above are full the other options within easy walking distance are the Grey Mare and the Greyhound (back towards the motorway).

Good Luck to FC United, let’s make it a special cup tie atmosphere on Sunday!
