Important AGM this Sunday 28/10/07

FC United of Manchester’s 2007 AGM is to be held on Sunday 28th October 2007 at MANCAT Openshaw Campus, Ashton Old Road, Openshaw, Manchester, M11 2WH, between 11am and 4pm.

The Annual General Meeting is the most important meeting in the club calendar, where members elect the board, receive reports on club finances and activities and decide the future direction of the club. Some members find getting to a meeting in Manchester on an evening problematic, plus trying to do all the business in a couple of hours at a mid-week evening meeting is very difficult.

The board wishes to widen the involvement of members and make the AGM as accessible as possible; so this years AGM is being held on a Sunday with more time given to presentations and a greater opportunity for members to ask questions and become involved in the discussions that will shape the club’s future.

Those unable to attend the whole day should note that the formal business of the Annual General Meeting will take place between 11am and 1pm with the finance report from the board and a report on club activities and progress from GeneralManager, Andy Walsh. The meeting will then break for lunch, when sandwiches and refreshments will be made available. After lunch there will be a presentation and discussion on the progress made on plans for our own stadium and facilities. This will be followed by breakout sessions on ’Fundraising’ and ’Membership and Match Promotion’. Events will be concluded by a question and answer session with Karl Marginson and players.

If members haven’t already done so can they please complete and return the tear off slip at the bottom of the notice or email the club at office@fc-utd.uk with the email subject line ’AGM and Conference’. Don’t forget to choose which breakout session you would like to attend. This is very important so that we can gauge how many members we need to cater for.

If you can’t attend the meeting there is still time for members to submit their postal vote using the form that was sent to members.

A different ballot form will be issued to members on arrival at the AGM.

Only members over the age of 16 are able to attend and vote at the AGM.
