FC United of Manchester Youth team progressed through to the next round of the FA Youth Cup with this measured 2-0 home win against West Didsbury and Chorlton AFC Youth under the Broadhurst Park floodlights on Friday evening.
SANDRO DA COSTA got the Young Reds under way with the opening goal on 17 minutes when he latched on to a long through ball from goalkeeper Lenny Fieldhouse, netting at the second attempt after visiting keeper Bradley Harris had partially blocked his first time effort.

And the same player SANDRO DA COSTA was on target again in the first minute of time added on, just before the interval, with a low shot into the far corner of the net past the West’s ’keeper.
The visitors went closest with a Jack Connolly effort that rattled the crossbar on 55 minutes whilst at the other end, FC United’s Kelvin Amado was unlucky not to add what would have been a decisive third goal on 74 minutes, his shot striking the foot of the post.

The Young Reds successfully negotiated the remaining period though, and now (subject to confirmation) potentially face Macclesfield Town Youth at home in the Second Qualifying Round during the week commencing Monday 5th October 2020.
