FC UNITED of MANCHESTER ACADEMY 'B' TEAM 3 FARSLEY CELTIC FC ACADEMY XI 2
A young FC United of Manchester Academy ’B’ side, consisting mainly of new season trialists - together with a sprinkling of first year students - narrowly defeated a Farsley Celtic FC Academy XI by three goals to two in Friday afternoon’s friendly match on the Broadhurst Park 3G.

The visitors had opened the scoring on the quarter hour mark before FC United drew level on 35 minutes. TAYLOR EVANS collecting the ball on the right wing, before advancing at pace towards the corner of the penalty area before sending in a right footed shot which arrowed into the far corner across the Farsley ’keeper.

Four minutes later, the West Yorkshiremen edged back in front, to turn around 2-1 ahead at the half-time interval.

On 72 minutes, FC United drew level for the second time, as Taylor Evans set up DANIEL VUSUMUZI who scored neatly from just inside the 18 yard box.

And on 82 minutes, DANIEL VUSUMUZI claimed his second of the afternoon with a tap-in at the far post after a free kick from the left had eluded everyone else.

FC United of Manchester Academy are back in action on Wednesday 26th February 2020 when the ’A’ team host Congleton High School - Team One in an ECFA/AoC league fixture. (Broadhurst Park 3G - KO 1.45 p.m.)
