FC United of Manchester’s Academy ’A’ team recorded an impressive 4-0 home win against AFC Fylde Men’s 2nds in their latest AoC Sport North West Championship Invitation (East) league fixture on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday afternoon.

The Coasters, fielding no fewer than four FC United old boys, ultimately proved to be little match for a resurgent FC United of Manchester Academy ’A’ team.

FC United started off well. Zaid Baroudi came closest to opening the scoring for the home side on 13 minutes, but his goalbound effort was flagged off for offside.

But the Young Reds didn’t have to wait much longer to open the scoring and once again it was Zaid Baroudi who was involved. His cross from the right on 26 minutes found TAWAB DJANKPATA who made no mistake from close in.

On 39 minutes, FC United’s Academy ’A’ team went 2-0 up. Lucas Martins sent in a cross which was expertly controlled by LEONEL PINTO ROCHA, whose low shot beat the AFC Fylde goalkeeper at the near post.

Two minutes later, FC United added another. LEONEL PINTO ROCHA outstripped the visiting defence before finishing confidently to make the score 3-0 at half-time.

And on 48 minutes, substitute CALEB ADENUGA made sure that there would be no way back for AFC Fylde, collecting another long through ball, before finishing at the second attempt after the ’keeper had parried his initial effort.

That made the final score 4-0 as FC United of Manchester Academy ’A’ team held on to move up to third in the AoC Sport North West Championship Invitation (East) league table.
