FC United of Manchester’s Academy ’A’ team registered a season-best 10-2 home win against The Football College (Manchester) Men’s 1sts on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Thursday afternoon in their latest AoC Sport North West Championship Invitation (East) league fixture.

This was despite the visitors opening the scoring on 3 minutes when Mason Walker’s attempted clearance was charged down before bouncing into the unguarded home goal.

On 11 minutes, FC United drew level when Caleb Adenuga set up KEVIN ZOKOU who shot home from the edge of the area.

On 32 minutes, it was 2-1. Tawab Djankpata was fouled on the edge of the area, and up stepped DYLAN BLACKLEDGE to blast in the resulting free kick.

A good save from Mason Walker four minutes later helped maintain FC United’s lead at this stage, before the first half scoreline was improved on 38 minutes when Ellis O’Reilly sent in a cross from the right which ZAID BAROUDI gratefully converted.

Into the second half and The Football College (Manchester) Men’s 1sts again started well, scoring from a 47th minute corner to make it 3-2.

The next goal was to prove crucial, and it came for FC United on 54 minutes. Tawab Djankpata was again upended, this time just inside the penalty area, and DYLAN BLACKLEDGE made no mistake from the 12 yard spot.

On 58 minutes, it was 5-2. Dylan Blackledge sent in a corner from the right, and ELLIS O’REILLY was on hand to sweep the loose ball home, with the help of a heavy deflection.

On 62 minutes, it was goalscorer turned provider, as Ellis O’Reilly’s long through ball was latched onto by TAWAB DJANKPATA, who calmly rounded the ’keeper before placing the ball into the empty net.

It was all one way traffic by now, and on 64 minutes, Charlie Burke set up KEVIN ZOKOU who made it 7-2.

On 81 minutes, MASON BEARD headed home from a Dylan Blackledge corner to make it 8-2 before substitute EMMANUEL UJAHCHUKU ran through the visiting defence to add goal number nine on 84 minutes.

And there was still time for a tenth goal when team captain CONNOR IKIN powered a header home from yet another pinpoint Dylan Blackledge corner with four minutes remaining.

The Football College (Manchester) Men’s 1sts had played quite well until conceding a fourth goal, but ultimately proved to be no match for an on form FC United of Manchester Academy ’A’ side.
