FC United of Manchester Youth completed a league double against Stalybridge Celtic Youth following this 5-0 "away" win on Wednesday afternoon in a National League u19 Alliance Division ’J’ league match switched to Broadhurst Park 3G from Stockport Sports Village (where the pitch had become unavailable at short notice due to necessary ground maintenance work).

FC United didn’t have to wait too long before opening the scoring. Max Lewens’ effort was blocked by the Stalybridge ’keeper and ABDUL MUKTADIR was on hand to finish from close range after just 7 minutes.

On 50 minutes, the Young Reds added a second. Niall Webb’s corner wasn’t properly cleared by the Celtic defence, and MAX LEWENS’ low shot from the edge of the penalty area, through a crowd of players. found the back of the net to make it 2-0.

Two minutes later, it was 3-0 as DILLON KIRKMAN sent in a dipping, low shot, which beat the Stalybridge ’keeper at the near post.

On 77 minutes, substitute SAM IWEGBU made it 4-0 as he finished first time from a Niall Webb left wing cross.

And leading scorer DILLON KIRKMAN rounded off the scoring with goal number five on 84 minutes, again from a Niall Webb pass.

Kirkman’s second goal takes his league tally, so far this season, up in to double figures, just one behind Chester FC Youth’s Cain Noble.

Next Wednesday (13th February 2019), the FC United of Manchester Youth team travel to College Road, Crosby, when they team up against Marine AFC Youth in another National League u19 Alliance Division ’J’ league fixture, KO 2.00 p.m.
