TRANMERE ROVERS YOUTH 0 FC UNITED of MANCHESTER YOUTH 3
FC United of Manchester’s Youth team signed off for the Christmas/New Year break with a hard-fought 3-0 away win against a robust Tranmere Rovers Youth outfit at the Solar Campus, Wallasey on Wednesday afternoon in their latest National League u19 Alliance Division ’J’ afternoon fixture.

After an evenly-matched opening half-hour, the Young Reds eventually opened the scoring on 37 minutes after Dillon Kirkman sent in a harmless-looking long through ball, which Tranmere ’keeper Joe Waugh inexplicably failed to clear, allowing MAX LEWENS the simplest of finishes into an unguarded goal.

On 62 minutes, DILLON KIRKMAN made it 2-0 with a low shot across the Tranmere goal, which the home ’keeper again failed to satisfactorily deal with.

On 89 minutes, a Sam Iwegbu effort on goal was tipped onto the bar, which would otherwise put the visitors three up.

Tranmere’s Jordan Deer then received a straight red for a rash tackle on FC United’s Sam Harding in the first minute of time added on, and there was still time for ABDUL MUKTADIR to evade a series of crude challenges before scoring the third from close range on 90+6 minutes to make sure of the final result.

FC United of Manchester Youth are back in action after the holiday break with a home league fixture against City of Liverpool FC Youth on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday 9th January 2019, KO 1 pm.
